Commentary (टीका)
This verse elaborates on the importance of assimilating knowledge from a *guru* (teacher) and the *śruti* (scriptures) along with one's own reasoning (ātma-yukti) to comprehend the ultimate truth (parama satya). When one's senses are pacified (praśamita-karaṇaḥ) and the mind is composed (samāhita-ātmā), it leads to an unshakable state (acala-akṛtiḥ) through firm abidance in the self (ātma-niṣṭhataḥ). This teaches the process through which one stabilizes one's self in the knowledge of the Self, becoming unaffected by external disturbances. It highlights the journey towards self-realization, stressing the fusion of external guidance and internal contemplation.
