Commentary (टीका)

This sloka addresses the intriguing situation in which an individual engaged deeply in meditation (nididhyāsana) encounters external awareness (bāhya-pratyaya). Such phenomena are explained in relation to the concept of prārabdha karma, the destiny that is already set in motion and must bear fruit. The scriptures (śruti) articulate that these experiences occur as visible manifestations of one's past actions. For the spiritual practitioner, understanding the influence of prārabdha karma can elucidate why certain worldly distractions persist, even amidst deep meditative states, indicating the inevitable fruition of past deeds.
