Commentary (टीका)

This verse delves into the Vedantic philosophy of removing āvaraṇa or ignorance. One can achieve nivṛtti (removal) of such ignorance through samyak-padārtha-darśana (true realization of the essence of reality). This realization effectively destroys mithyā-jñāna (false knowledge), leading to the cessation of vikṣepa-janita-duḥkha (suffering caused by delusions and mental disturbances). The verse emphasizes the vital role of true knowledge in overcoming the inherent suffering in human existence, paving the way to liberation mokṣa.
