Commentary (टीका)

This verse calls upon the seeker to realize the temporary and illusory nature of the physical body, represented by the components such as skin, flesh, fat, bone, and excrement. *Mūḍhabuddhi* signifies ignorance or a confused mind that identifies with the body instead of the eternal *Brahman*. By encouraging the abandonment of this body-centric notion of self, the verse directs the seeker towards understanding the ultimate reality of the self as *Brahman*, which is constant and undivided (*nirvikalpa*). The text urges practitioners to dwell in the supreme peace (*paramāṁ śāntiṁ*) attainable through unity with this ultimate truth.
