Translation/Explanation

English: That puruṣa who remains awake when all are asleep, creating each kāma (desire), is indeed śukra (the pure), that is brahman, and that alone is said to be amṛta (immortal). Upon that all lokas (worlds) are fastened; none passes beyond that. This verily is that.

Commentary

What was pledged in ‘I will explain the secret brahman’ is now explained. This puruṣa who remains awake when all, that is, when prāṇa and the rest are asleep, creating by avidyā (ignorance) whatever was desired, that is, objects of perception such as woman and the rest, is indeed śukra (the pure); and that is brahman. There is no other secret brahman. It is that alone which is said to be amṛta (immortal), that is, deathless in all the śāstras. Moreover, the lokas (worlds), earth and the rest, all depend on brahman, that being the cause of all worlds. None passes beyond that, as already explained.
