English Translation of Ramanuja's Sanskrit Commentary By Swami Adidevananda 8.5 He who, at the last moment, while leaving the body, departs remembering Me alone, attains My being; he attains My condition. In whatever way he meditates on Me, he attains that very form, in the same manner as the royal sage Bharata attained the form of the deer remembered by him at death. Such is the meaning.

Sri Krsna further elucidates that it is the nature of one's last thought that leads to the attainment of a similar form by the meditator:
