यह सूत्र बताता है कि जिस सिद्धि के होने पर अन्य विषय की भी सिद्धि हो जाती है, वही मुख्य विषय का सिद्धान्त (अधिकरण-सिद्धान्त) कहलाता है। अर्थात, जब किसी विषय के समाधान से अन्य संबंधित विषयों का भी समाधान हो जाए, तो वह निष्कर्ष मुख्य विषय के लिए निर्णायक होता है।
