Commentary (टीका)

This verse encapsulates the essence of **mumukṣutā**, the intense desire for liberation. Here, the focus is placed on the bonds starting from *ahaṅkāra* (ego) to the physical body, which are all perceived as constructs of *ajñāna* (ignorance). The path to liberation from these imagined chains lies in *sva-svarūpa-avabodha*, the realization of one's true self or nature. This reflects the core philosophy in Vedantic thought that liberation is achieved through self-knowledge (ātma-jnana). The aspirant, or *mumukṣu*, is encouraged to seek this realization as the ultimate purpose of their spiritual journey.
