इस सूत्र में कहा गया है कि जैसे स्फटिक में भिन्नता की धारणा होती है, वैसे ही किसी अन्य वस्तु में भी उस (पूर्ववर्ती) की भिन्नता की धारणा होती है। अर्थात्, जिस प्रकार कोई व्यक्ति स्फटिक को अन्य पत्थरों से भिन्न मानता है, उसी प्रकार किसी अन्य वस्तु में भी उसकी भिन्नता की धारणा संभव है। यह भिन्नता की धारणा के सामान्य सिद्धांत को स्पष्ट करता है।

This sūtra states that just as there is a conception of otherness in the case of crystal, similarly, there is a conception of the otherness of that (previously mentioned) in another object. In other words, just as one perceives a crystal as distinct from other stones, so too, the notion of otherness can be ascribed to another object. This clarifies the general principle of the conception of difference or otherness.
