इस सूत्र में कहा गया है कि सम्पूर्ण वस्तु का ग्रहण (समझना या जानना) तभी सम्भव है जब उसके अवयवयुक्त (अर्थात् जिनके अवयव हैं) की सिद्धि हो जाती है। अर्थात्, जब तक किसी वस्तु के अवयवों का अस्तित्व प्रमाणित नहीं होता, तब तक सम्पूर्ण वस्तु की भी सिद्धि या ग्रहण सम्भव नहीं है।
